Hi everybody! Here's some stuff to answer a lot of the questions I get about shoes.


How much?
I'm currently charging $100 (including Chucks) plus shipping, and I usually do PayPal.

What else do I need to give you?
I'll also need your shoe size and what you want painted! If you have reference pictures for me that's a big help.

What kind of stuff will you paint?
I'll give almost anything a shot, BUT...
I'm currently trying to move away from copyrighted stuff, not because I've annoyed anyone but just because it's bad form. If you're a major fan of something I'll see what we can do to keep it INSPIRED BY but not copying the original.
If we've already started talking about a pair, don't worry, I'll still do it. This is from here on out.

Can you paint other kinds of shoes?
Yup! Basically any kind of shoe that's mainly canvas or other fabric. Vans, Chucks, Keds, whatever. I've done heels too.

How well does the paint hold up?
Really well. For the most part, the shoes start to fall apart before the paint does. I use acrylic paints, which are already water-resistant, and add a fabric medium (like this one www.joann.com/joann/catalog/pr… ) that helps the paint soak in and keeps it flexible. A little rain's ok, and you can wipe them down with diluted, soapy water. But don't toss them in the washing machine.

And here's an update.

Summer's been great. Fun internship with really nice people, and what actually has everything to do with my major.

New roommate. We've been friends for a couple years, and it turns out we have the same taste in lots of things. It's been kinda rad.

And we're getting rats! Probably two girls. Two so they can keep each other occupied when we're too busy with school and work, and girls because boys pee.

I'm not telling you what we're naming them yet, mostly because we're not sure, but the full list of ideas is entertaining. I'll probably post it when we actually get them (from outer Mongolia because both the Petco and the Petsmart here only have boys). And some pix, hopefully.

New computer. MacBook pro, suckers. It's very nice so far, and Snow Leopard is speedy. I don't sign up for the Apple Cult, but at the moment I think they're making the better products.


And there might be big news on the shoe front. I mean, not THAT big, because it's just shoes, specifically mine. But you know. Looking at a TOTAL REBRAND... but I have to be sure I'm ready. Eep!
